I have always had such a love and a strength for language. I have a Bachelors in English Rhetoric and Composition, and I spent some time studying copywriting after college.

When my favorite copywriting resource, the Copy Posse, released a class discussing their approach to brand language, I had no willpower to resist enrolling. As we went through the class, we applied what we learned to either a real life or speculative business.

I directed my practice toward a solo graphic design business I dreamt of building. I’m comfortable sharing the entire style guide with you here.

Click the image below, and you will get to see a bit of my writing, strategy, and design skills… with the added bonus of learning what I stand for as a person.

And if you are short for time, no worries.

I will share some key pages from this guide below as well.

My guide was one of few selected to be featured and critiqued in the “hot seat” at the end of the course. If you take the course, you will see me and this style guide there at the end.

I was a little bit nervous about what the instructor would say about my work. Naturally, I feel pretty insecure about anything I do for the first time. (I am always learning new things, so I’m very comfortable with this feeling)

To my surprised, she mostly praised both the content AND my design! Another girl in the class asked me to help her work through her own voice strategy and design the document.

Brand voice has become a passion of mine. I love to notice how companies choose to represent the entity that is their brand in this way, and I would be honored to work with a brand on honing this vital piece of their company persona.
