Behind the veil of night, shadows move and secrets stir. Some things feel just a little… more than they appeared in the daylight.
My latest series of paintings blurs the line between reality and magic. They are an invitation to explore what darkness enlivens.

Step closer, but tread lightly. In the depths of these darkened scenes, spells are woven and ancient powers awaken, veiled in mist and shadow.

Behind the Magic
My goal with this series was to create story blocks. Each piece can stand on its own as its own story, sure… but I intentionally kept them small to allow for the joy of potentially weaving together a larger story with multiple blocks.
For example, maybe someone wants to decorate with a witchy theme. They could display the blackened hand, the stack of books and magical items, and the library.
Or perhaps they could create a storyline with the moon, the open mausoleum door, and the bitten neck.
The challenge was to come up with suggestions that were clear, but still had an air of mystery to them. Like a question hanging silently in the air. Which is why I titled them each with a question or a vague suggestion as well.
