"Edge of Becoming" || fine art print
This is a very personal piece because I painted it in commemoration of my decision to dedicate myself to creating artwork and sharing it with the world. To stop listening to the well-meaning voices around me and instead follow my own light into the unknown.
The landscape was painted in acrylic, but the winged maiden was painted in oil. It felt especially empowering to use oils, a brand-new medium for me at the time, in tandem with my medium of comfort to tell a story of setting off on an adventure.
I hope that this mixed media illustration will one day fill someone else with the desire to take that first step toward their dream. Perhaps it might remind another brave soul of the moment they once faced the edge of their own becoming.
